Happy Anniversary AnAuthor World!

We’d love for you to join us as Pam and Tim celebrate one year in business on Tuesday night, June 29 at Hargis Art Services, 475 Haywood Road, Suite 8, Greenville, SC (in the same parking lot as The Melting Pot). Feel free to drop in anytime from 4pm to 9pm.

We’ll have a special program at 6:30pm, including the storied history of AnAuthor World–you’ve never seen a plot like this! There will be book giveaways, the unveiling of a brand new Authors & Illustrators game (one will be given away –a very limited edition), and we’ll get you psyched about our Page 2 conference coming up August 7. One of our featured conference speakers will also be making an appearance. If you like, you can even be on the cover of Highlights magazine. And, yes–there will be free food. Even some activities for the kids.

Hope to see you there!

Unbounded Imagination and Enthusiasm!

The first Camp MyOwnBook ended Friday, with mixed emotions. Everyone, campers and instructors, thoroughly enjoyed all the stories written during the week. But everyone, campers and instructors, were sad that the week was over. It flew by way too fast!

We had stories about Spot who kept getting lost. About Einstein and his time machine. Boy, did he have problems! Then there was Chuck Little who mainly played the bench on his team, the Weeners, but dreamed of hitting a homerun. We had a cat frustrating two dogs by eating their food, and a dolphin who had trouble making friends, until she found a killer whale. And who could forget the adventures of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda? Not me, a huge Star Wars fan! George Lucas, move over!

Caroline and I will be missing these campers and their wonderful imaginations, but we feel sure that if they keep writing and illustrating, we’ll be reading their published books one day.

If you’d like to sign up for the next Camp MyOwnBook (July 26-30), click on the Events button on the Navigation bar and then click on Camps.
