AnAuthor World is a place and a program designed for writers and illustrators, especially those who are targeting the children’s market.

Born of providential circumstances and diverse personalities, AnAuthor World was conceived in the spring of 2009 as the combined vision of Pam Zollman and Tim Davis. That vision materialized when the perfect Greenville, South Carolina, location came available that May: a studio at Hargis Art Services: Studios and Gallery at 475 Haywood Road, Suite 8.

Pam Zollman, the primary instructor at AnAuthor World, is a former editor for Highlights magazine, a speaker in national SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) conferences, a continuing education instructor in Texas and Pennsylvania, and the author of over forty books for children. In every class she teaches, Pam shares her contagious enthusiasm for writing, which carries over into the relationships she develops with aspiring authors.

Tim Davis brings an artist’s perspective to AnAuthor World. He is the author-illustrator of seven children’s books published by JourneyForth, and has also done work for a number of children’s publishers, including Highlights magazine, Scholastic, and Fisher-Price. Tim teaches continuing education courses at both Furman University and Greenville Technical College, and will offer classes for prospective illustrators at AnAuthor World.

Jim Hargis is an illustrator with a lifetime of experience. After retiring from BJU Press, he worked from home until an opportunity to rent the facility on Haywood Road was graciously granted in January of 2009. It soon developed into an art gallery, displaying the works of various local artists, including illustrators. Jim thanks God for the opportunity to support the arts and host prospective writers and illustrators who visit his gallery and enter AnAuthor World.
