The Caldecott Medal is named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. Awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, it goes to to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

New Artist at the Gallery
We just received two new pieces from Jeyanthi Manokaran, a writer and illustrator of children’s books based in India. She received a UNESCO award for illustrating in a folk art style for kids and has published nine books with Scholastic. Love this style!
